“Animation, Comics, Films, and Music give my life meaning!” – ZOOLOOK
Nicholas Da Silva is a multidisciplinary artist and musician known professionally as ZOOLOOK®. He is an award-winning graphic artist, comic book creator and writer, 2D animator, web developer, photographer, musician, filmmaker, director, and producer. His work has been featured in publications including WebDesigner Magazine, .Net, Computer Arts, Layers, and Adobe, as well as radio and TV, including CNN, NPR, and BBC Radio 6.
As a musician who plays keyboards and bass, his music blends multiple genres to create his unique sound, including funk, jazz, hip-hop, dub, and reggae. The ZOOLOOK sound is evidence of his artistic vision and ability to push the boundaries of reggae and dub music. ZOOLOOK released his debut album, STONEFRENGE: Black in Space, a dub reggae music and original sci-fi animated video series, on February 29, 2024.
When ZOOLOOK is not in his studio, you can find the musical artist traveling the globe, covering the reggae music scene for IRIE™ Magazine, and attending film festivals for ReelTV. ZOOLOOK also enjoys sampling cuisine from different countries, reading comic books, and watching movies (especially horror & sci-fi films) that don’t suck.
The inspiration behind Nicholas Da Silva’s artist name, ZOOOOK, comes from Jean Michel Jarre’s 1984 classic album, ZOOLOOK, an album in which Jean Michel combined an actual band and processed vocal samples recorded in 25 different languages.
